Bekmambetov called most commercially successful filmmaker in Russia

    Timur Bekmambetov has been named the most commercially successful filmmaker in Russia in a rating of top 15 filmmakers in Russia by box office earnings published by Variety Russia.
    Bekmambetov’s films have earned about $140 million in Russian film distribution industry.
    The margin between the filmmaker and his nearest rival is quite big. Fyodor Bondarchuk, who is ranked second, earned only $54 million with his films.
    “Wanted” staring Angelina Jolie is Bekmambetov’s most successful movie. It collected more than $341 million across the world. His second most profitable project was Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
    Fyodor Bondarchuk follows Bekmambetov in the ranking. His films earned $53.5 million. Sarik Andreasyan is ranked third. His eight Enjoy Movies Company’s projects made $63 million in box office earnings, www.tengrinews.kz wrote.
