1^st military parade held

    President of Kazakhstan and Commander-in-chief President Nursultan Nazarbayev opened the first military parade in the history of Kazakhstan yesterday at the Otar 40th military base in the Zhambyl Oblast.
    All TV channels in the country conducted live broadcasting of the parade.
    "The army is a reliable shield for our state, and holding it is not only a great responsibility, but also an honor for every Kazakh serviceman," Nazarbayev said during the opening ceremony.
    He recalled that this year, Defender of the Fatherland Day is being celebrated as a public holiday for the first time, Trend wrote.
