Several officer ranks in Kazakhstani law enforcement now are open to older candidates, Interior Ministry spokesman Nurdilda Oraz told the KazTAG news service June 10.
For example, new majors now may be 48-years-old (previously one had to be under 45) and new lieutenant colonels now may be 50 (previously 47).
The minimum pension age for law enforcement officers also increased, he said, though he did not provide specifics, Central Asia Online wrote.
