Kazakhstan's naval forces have held military exercises in the Caspian Sea, the Kazakh Defence Ministry reported Friday.
On the open sea Kazakh military naval forces simulated a marine terror attack and the use of weapons of mass destruction, searched for sea mines and carried out search and rescue operations.
"Led by Lieutenant Commander Erkebulan Darkenbaev the crew of a rocket-artillery ship successfully achieved all objectives," the ministry said.
"The seamen have shown a high level of control over the vessel and proficiency in the use of weapons,” Commander of the naval base, Captain of the First Rank Saken Mansurov said.
The marine-based military exercises are continuing. Kazakhstan’s navy is increasing its pace of training and preparing to achieve new objectives.
The Kazakh navy fleet includes hydrographic, rocket and artillery and mine-sweeping ships, according to Trend.
