Astana forms anti-terrorism commission

    Astana Akim Imangali Tasmagambetov will chair a newly formed local anti-terrorism commission, Tengri News reported September 10, citing the city hall's website.
    The new commission will co-ordinate government agencies' fight against terrorism within the capital, the statement said, adding that the city council September 10 approved the commission's members. Besides Tasmagambetov, members include Astana deputy mayors, other officials from the local government, and leaders of Astana district sub-departments of law enforcement agencies, according to Central Asia Online.
