Kazakhstan supports transfer of Syrian chemical weapons to international control

    "Kazakhstan agrees with the initiative to transfer Syrian chemical weapons to international control and Syria’s accession to the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction. We believe this step will be a real prerequisite for the solution of a long and bloody conflict in Syria," Foreign Ministry said.
    Kazakhstan calls on the Syrian authorities to take immediate and comprehensive measures for the implementation of the initiative, in close cooperation with international partners.
    "Our country welcomes the restraint of the international community in this crisis situation, an objective assessment of which can be given only based on the final findings of UN experts," KazTag wrote.
