Kazakhstan is now moving from international cooperation for crude materials extraction to partnership in the processing of raw materials and exchange technology, the President Nursultan Nazarbayev reports.
"Kazakhstan is striving toward mutually-beneficial international cooperation in the energy sector. One of the principles governing the country's further development is moving from extraction to cooperation in the processing of energy resources and exchanging the latest technology. This is a very important innovation, and includes aspects to ensure environmental safety during site development," Prime Minister Serik Akhmetov stated while reading a written greeting from President Nursultan Nazarbayev at the 8th Kazenergy Forum.
"Today, our country has developed a sequence of actions to create a national model for progress, an example of which is the launch of production at the Kashagan field. We have many promising projects. The oil and gas industry, as a key sector of our economy, should ensure technological leadership. I am confident our joint work and the strength of our partnership will help to achieve our goals," Nazarbayev said, KazTAG wrote.
