Severe cold to remain in Almaty until end of week

    Extensive cold anticyclone air is slowing moving from the European part of Russia in a southeast direction. Severe cold and frost will remain in Almaty until the end of this week, the Kazhydromet weather service reported.
    Frosty weather with no significant precipitations will remain in most regions of Kazakhstan this week. Night temperature will be -28º -35º reaching -38º, which is -12º -17º below normal for this period. Snow, blizzard, gusty winds are expected only in the south, southeast and eastern Kazakhstan.
    The coldest night is expected on February 6 and the coldest day will be on Wednesday -22º. On Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, snowing is expected in Almaty.
    Starting from February 10, severe frosts will start receding. Day temperatures in Almaty will rise to 0 degrees, at night – will not fall less than -5º -6º, CA-News said.
