Government approves draft state industrial-innovative development program

Prime Minister Karim Massimov chaired a government meeting on May 17 to discuss the financial and economic development of the country, a news statement from the Prime Minister said.
During the meeting, the ministers approved the draft State Program for Industrial-Innovative Development 2015-2019.
The bill was presented by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and New Technologies, Asset Issekeshev.
As the official news release notes, the state program is designed to develop the commodity sector (oil and gas industry, mining sector, agriculture), manufacturing and innovation sector, as well as provide support for the development of small and medium-sized businesses (tourism, services, etc.).
Issekeshev also presented a draft plan for the development of special economic zones.
The government discussed improving legislation on public procurement, as well as measures to further enhance tax and customs administration, which were presented by the deputy prime minister - finance minister.
The minister of agriculture also briefed the other ministers on measures taken to support the development of the food industry, according to CA-News.
