Figure skating stars from Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Canada and France will take part in the Denis Ten ice shows, bronze medal winner at the 2014 Sochi Olympic Games from Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.
People from all over the world will attend the show.
Over 300 people from the post-Soviet space, Japan, South Korea and China, "have booked tickets to the ice shows in Almaty and Astana. Usually, Kazakhstanis go abroad to attend concerts or other events, but in this case, it is the other way around, which is good for Kazakhstan. Many figure skating starts are looking forward to arriving in Kazakhstan, which is well-known for its hospitality,” Denis Ten said.
The ice show is titled Olympic Energy. “The Sochi Olympic Games was a landmark event for Kazakhstan. Therefore, we initially wanted to devote the show to the Olympic Games. However, later when our EXPO-2017 team joined the project, the ice show was renamed to Olympic Energy,” Denis Ten said. Kazakhstan's Astana will be hosting the EXPO in 2017.
The ice show will consist of two parts. The first is a more dynamic one while the second one will run with the symphony orchestra. Nurlan Abdullin, Kazakhstan’s popular singer, and Nurlan Koyanbayev will host the show.
World-renowned figure skating stars will perform at the ice show along with Kazakhstan's Denis Ten.
The silver prizewinner of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics Mao Osada (Japan), the 2010 Olympic bronze winner Daisuke Takahashi (Japan), the 2014 Olympic medal winner Carolina Kostner (Italy), the 2010 Olympic champion Evan Frank Lysacek (USA), the 2006 Olympic silver medal winner Stephane Lambiel (Switzerland), the 2006 Olympic champions Tatiana Totmianina and Maxim Marinin (Russia), the 2014 Olympic champions Tatiana Volosozhar and Maxim Trankov (Russia), Mirai Aileen Nagasu (USA), Nathalie Pechalat and Fabian Bourzat (France), 2010 Olympic medal winner Joannie Rochette (Canada) will be the most prominent participants of the show.
The shows are going to be for charity. All the money raised from the shows will be used to promote development of figure skating in Kazakhstan.
Denis Ten's ice show will be held in Almaty on May 29-30, 2014 and in Astana on June 1, 2014. Almaty will host the show in the Baluan Sholak Palace of Culture and Sports located at the crossing of Abay and Baitursinov streets.
In Astana, the show will be held in Kazakhstan Sports Palace located at #9 Munaitpasov street.
Tickets can be purchased online on Ticketon.kz and ZakazBiletov.kz. Tickets are also available at Baluan Sholak Palace of Culture and Sports and Meloman stores in Almaty, and in Kazakhstan sports centre, Congress Hall and Meloman stores in Astana.
This is the second time Denis Ten has organized an ice show in Kazakhstan. In 2013, Ten performed at his ice show entitled Denis Ten and His Friends along with world's figure skating stars, according to www.tengrinews.kz.
