Kazakhstan and Korea to set up joint ICT Research Center

    According to a memo to promote cooperation in the ICT sector signed by the heads of the Zerde National Information and Communication Holding and the National Information Society Agency of the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan and Korea will set up a ICT Research and Cooperation Development Center.
    The center will focus on conducting joint research and studies on cloud technology, big data technologies, electronic government and other popular areas of ICT, primeminister.kz reported June 19.
    "South Korea is the ideal model of an information society for us. We are strengthening our relationship more closely today. The memorandum will promote the development of e-government and big data. We would also like to express gratitude to South Korea, which has given us the baton to conduct the Global E-Government Forum in Astana this October. We look forward to your active participation in this forum, and fruitful cooperation," Chairman of Zerde, Mirbolat Ayupov said after signing the document.
    The memorandum was signed during the official visit of President of the Republic of Korea Park Geun-hye to Kazakhstan.
    The document will promote cooperation in the field of new technologies, promote social and economic development through the ICT integration by qualified personnel and exchange of information, according to CA-News.
