Nazarbayev says Minsk summit was productive

    The meeting of the leaders of the Customs Union, Ukraine and the EU high officials that took place in Minsk on 26 August, will bring positive results, President, Nursultan Nazarbayev said at Minsk National Airport on August 27.
    "This important event has gained global attention. This meeting was much anticipated, and I believe there will be results achieved," Nazarbayev said.
    He stressed the parties involved had launched a negotiation process, which was vital for the present situation.
    Nazarbayev also hailed the level of the meeting’s organization, BelTA reports.
    Nazarbayev was the final participant in the talks to leave Belarus. He expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received.
    Lukashenko, for his part, thanked Nazarbayev for visiting and for Kazakhstan's support of Belarus overall, according to Kazinform.
