Parliament passes second reading of bill on National Guard

    The Kazakh Majilis (lower house of parliament) has approved a draft law on the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the second reading, official media said Wednesday.
    The bill ensures the transformation of the troops under the Internal Affairs Ministry to the National Guard of Kazakhstan.
    The main purpose of the bill is to regulate 'social relations' (original – KNL) in the activity of the National Guard of Kazakhstan.
    The bill defines the National Guard, its principles, and the legal framework of its activities.
    The bill also makes sure that the tasks, powers, and organization of the National Guard are determined by the State, Akipress reports.
