Senate ratifies CIS agreement on the protection of secret information

    The Senate ratified on Friday the agreement on the protection of classified information, within the Commonwealth of Independent States.
    The agreement is designed to ensure the protection of classified information within the CIS.
    The CIS members previously agreed to cooperate in the protection of classified information via their respective competent authorities.
    The list of CIS bodies to be engaged in protecting classified information will be determined by the CIS Executive Committee.
    The signatories should take all the required measures to ensure the protection of classified information in accordance with their national legislations.
    The parties involved have agreed they will not change the level of secrecy or classification of secrecy of obtained information without written permission from the party providing the information.
    The signatories pledge to use confidential information received from other signatory parties solely under the terms and conditions set by the provider of the information.
    The recipient parties have also agreed to refrain from ‘transmitting confidential information’ (original - KNL) without prior written consent from the side of the provider, according to the agreement, Akipress reports.
