President discusses strengthening national border with security chief

    President Nazarbayev met with Chairman of the National Security Committee, Nurtai Abykayev Monday, a presidential news statement reports.
    The meeting dealt with extremism and steps to be taken to further strengthen security on Kazakhstan's national border.
    Abykayev briefed the president on the committee's ongoing efforts in this area.
    Following the meeting, the president gave Abykayev a number of specific instructions, according to Akipress.
