Rakhat Aliyev buried in Vienna

Former son-in-law of President Nursultan Nazarbayev and former Kazakh ambassador to Austria Rakhat Aliyev was buried at the Vienna central cemetery March 15.
The funeral was attended by Aliyev's elder sons - Nurali Aliyev and Aisultan Nazarbayev, the Respublika media group reported, citing well-known Kazakh director, Bolat Atabaev's Facebook page.
Media reports say, Aliyev was buried in accordance with Muslim tradition (zhanaza) at the cemetery for honorable citizens of Austria.
Besides Aliyev's elder sons, his lawyer and some friends attended the services.
Rakhat Aliyev reportedly committed suicide by hanging himself in an Austrian jail. Austrian prosecutors in December charged him with the murder of two bankers in 2007, a case in which Kazakhstan's two requests for extradition were denied because of the former Soviet republic's human rights record.
Aliyev had denounced the case against him as politically-motivated.
He had been in custody since June, when he turned himself in to Austrian authorities after a four-year investigation, according to Akipress.
