Kazakhstan promises fair elections

30.03.2015
Kazakhstan will continue its ‘constructive cooperation’ with international election observers, and relies on unbiased assessments on voting results.
The intent was voiced at a meeting between Foreign Minister Erlan Idrissov and the Head of Mission of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, Cornelia Jonker.
Idrissov briefed Jonker on the efforts of the Foreign Ministry as part of preparations for the presidential election in April. He noted Kazakhstan intends to provide highly open, transparent and fair elections.
Monitoring the electoral campaign, Idrissov added, is an important way to support democracy and human rights.
The Head of the OSCE/ODIHR mission in turn promised an impartial and unbiased observation, according to Akipress.
