06.04.2015
‘Kazakhstan welcomes the progress made in agreeing a political framework agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) and the six international mediators to resolve the Iranian nuclear program on April 2, 2015 in Lausanne.
‘We have consistently advocated the solution of the situation around Iran's nuclear program with IRI by political and diplomatic ways, which will contribute to strengthening the international security system,’ Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry states.
‘Kazakhstan, as a state with a strong commitment to a non-proliferation regime and which voluntarily renounced nuclear weapons, made a practical contribution to the negotiation process. Our country provided a platform for holding two rounds of talks on February 25-26 and April 5-6, 2013, which contributed significantly to the creation of an atmosphere of trust between Iran and the group of international negotiators, and affected the promotion of a constructive dialogue’.
‘We hope the political will of the participating countries will be maintained and will become a key achievement concerning a comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear program within the agreed timeframe in the future,’ the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan says, according to Kazinform.
