Kazakhstan approves 2015-2019 Infrastructure Development Program

President Nazarbayev signed a decree approving the Nurly Zhol State Infrastructure Development Program for 2015-2019, a news statement from the president said.
Nazarbayev instructed the Cabinet of Ministers within one month to develop an action plan for program implementation.
The program is designed for the implementation of Kazakhstan’s new economic policy based on the formation of a single market and building effective hub infrastructure.
The main goals of the program include the creation of an effective transport and logistics infrastructure; the development of industrial and tourist infrastructure; the strengthening of energy infrastructure with the development of a Unified Electricity System; the modernization of utilities infrastructure including the heating, water supply and sewage systems; the creation of affordable housing, and an improvement of education infrastructure.
The program includes anti-crisis measures to support the processing industry, the agricultural sector and domestic exports, as well as measures to protect the domestic market and stimulate the exploration of natural resources, according to KazTAG.
