Kazakhstan seeking Kazhegeldin’s return - source

    The authorities of Kazakhstan are seeking to return former prime minister Akezhan Kazhegeldin to Kazakhstan, an informed source from the Nur Otan party told KazTAG.
    "Perhaps it is time for the return of Akezhan Magzhanovich to his motherland. There are legal barriers, of course. These are connected to the illegal secret conviction in Kazakhstan, for which Rakhat Aliyev took a great deal of effort. But now, the situation has changed. I believe it is time for him to come back to the motherland and to serve the motherland," he stated.
    “As for Kazhegeldin, we believe he is ready for a dialogue. At the same time, he realizes a withdrawal of charges would not be a full guarantee of his security within the country…, according to KazTAG.
