Azamat Tazhayakov and Dias Kadyrbayev, Kazakhstani students convicted in the US, cannot be extradited to their homeland without their agreement, Deputy Prosecutor General, Iogan Merkel states.
"In my report on the Inter-American Convention on the Extradition of Convicts, I mentioned that as part of this convention, hopefully we will ratify it as part of this session. In this event, it will serve a legal basis for these people to serve their term in our country. I should indicate that to bring them here, first of all, we need their agreement. The process won't start without their agreement," he said.
He added the agreement of the US is also needed for their transfer, according to KazTAG.
