Poroshenko to visit Kazakhstan this autumn

    President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko will go on an official visit to Kazakhstan this fall, Tengrinews reports, citing a news statement from Kazakhstan's Prime Minister.
    First Deputy Prime Minister, Bakhytzhan Sagintayev arrived in Kyiv to take part in the 12th session of the Kazakh-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation on July 15-16, which was a key stage in the preparations for the upcoming visit on part of the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to Kazakhstan this fall.
    According to a news statement from Kazakhstan's PM, the two sides discussed the current state and prospects for bilateral cooperation.
    "The participants in the meeting agreed on the need to further deepen cooperation in agriculture, energy, logistics, industry, tourism and culture sectors," the press office said.
    In addition, Sagintayev invited Ukraine to take part in Expo-2017 to be held in Astana in two years, expressing hope Ukraine would become a full-fledged participant of the exhibition.
    Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev went on an official trip to Kyiv on December 22, 2014, which was his first official visit since the change in the country's leadership. This was a milestone event for bilateral ties between Ukraine and Kazakhstan, the news statement added.
    During this visit, the two leaders reached a number of important agreements on the development of bilateral cooperation, including with the Kazakh-Ukrainian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic cCooperation, according to Tengrinews.
