Almaty mudslide floods120 houses, 6 people hospitalized

Over 120 houses and two schools have been flooded as a result of mudslide in Almaty. 6 people have been hospitalised due to the mudslide, the Emergency Situations Committee under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan announced Thursday.
The mudslide occurred during the night of July 23 at around 3 am, Almaty time.
Two urban areas were partially-flooded, as the water levels in the Kargalinka River rose as a result of abnormal hot temperatures.
Casualties have not been reported.
The authorities in Almaty toured the area by helicopter. They inspected the dam and gave assurance it was remain intact and say there is no further threat of additional mudslides, according to Akipress.
