Restricted tourist areas again open for foreigners

    Foreign tourists will once again soon be able to visit "closed" tourist areas in Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Investment and Development of Kazakhstan states.
    Foreign tourists will now be able to visit tourist attractions located on border areas without any restrictions at present.
    Officials have pointed out they no longer need any special permits or visas.
    The list of tourist areas open for tourists include Big Almaty Lake as well as the natural reserve areas С Charyn, Dzungarian Alatau, the Kolsai Lakes, the Shymbulak Ski Resort, Medeo, Kok-Zhailyau, and Ustyurt.
    As of today, the relevant document has been signed by the prime minister of Kazakhstan and will be published again shortly, according to Kazinform.
