Tashkent hosts SCO RATS Conference to Counter Terrorism

On October 22, the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Strucure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO RATS) held the Third Scientific Conference on Cooperation to Combat International Terrorism, the SCO RATS reports.
The conference was attended by officials from the competent authorities of the SCO member states — China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the SCO Secretariat, the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee (CTC), the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), the OSCE and the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.
The participants noted that strengthening stability within the SCO remains the first goal of the SCO members and observer states.
They confirmed their intent to expand cooperation in the joint fight against terrorism.
Also, the conference participants expressed serious concern over the complicated situation in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, as well as instability in Iraq and Syria, according to Akipress.
