Nazarbayev to deliver address to the nation in crisis

    President Nursultan Nazarbayev has announced he will address the nation before the beginning of the new year on concrete steps needed to cope with the economic crisis.
    During yesterday's expanded government session, the president said that both the central and local governments should work hard to pursue economic growth, increase employment and income.
    President Nazarbayev reminded those present of the ongoing world crisis, which is affecting Kazakhstan as well.
    The prices for export products have fallen and the price for oil is now around $43 per barrel, he noted.
    He added that a three-year draft state budget has been prepared to take these factors into account, according to Akipress.
