Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan prepare final documents on border demarcation

    Government delegations from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan met on December 21-25 to prepare a package of final documents of the demarcation of the Uzbek-Kazakh border, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said on Monday.
    The meeting of the officials from the two countries was held in Tashkent. The Demarcation Commission agreed on the final documents that will mean the complete and final demarcation of the border between the two neighboring countries.
    The delimitation of state border, which stretches for more than 2 thousand kilometers was completed in September 2002.
    The demarcation of the Kazakh-Uzbek border has been underway ever since the spring of 2004, according to Akipress.
