Massimov meets in Davos with EBRD President

Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Massimov met on Thursday in Davos with the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Sir Suma Chakrabarti, along with a group of international investors.
In a meeting that took place as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Massimov and Chakrabarti discussed the "success of Kazakhstan in enhancing the the country's investment attractiveness," the prime minister's press statement said.
The parties present discussed reforms being carried out by Kazakhstan to improve the investment climate in the Central Asian country.
Massimov said that foreign direct investments into the Kazakh economy had reached US $ 215 billion over the last 15 years.
The EBRD has invested more than US $ 7 billion, he noted.
Representatives from well-known international companies from USA, UK, Turkey and India reportedly praised Kazakhstan initiatives to improve the country's investment climate and strengthen its institutional framework. They also expressed interest in contributing toward the development of further cooperation, according to Akipress.
