France to deepen cooperation with Kazakhstan in legal sector, ambassador says

    Kazakh Prosecutor General, Askhat Daulbayev has met with Ambassador of France to Kazakhstan, Francis Etienne, Kazinform has learned from a news statement from the Prosecutor General's Office.
    During their talks they discussed bilateral cooperation in the legal sector, in particular to expand the contractual-legal base, to counter transnational organized crime, terrorism and extremism, cybercrime, drug trafficking, and money laundering.
    Daulbayev briefed the ambassador on the main priorities for the Prosecutor General's Office and measures being taken to access the Council of Europe conventions on criminal law.
    He also discussed the activities of the Academy of Law Enforcement Authorities under the Prosecutor General's Office and expressed interest in the establishment of contacts with the leading educational and scientific institutions of France, in particular with the National School of Administration, the National High School of Police, and the National School for Masters.
    Daulbayev stressed Kazakhstan's prosecution authorities' adherence to the development of international relations and integration into the international legal community, also focusing on strengthening cooperation with France.
    The French Ambassador praised the role of Prosecutor's Office in the implementation of international law in Kazakhstan and reiterated his intent to deepen cooperation in the legal sector, according to Kazinform.
