Nazabayev, Lukashenko meet in Istanbul to discuss ties

    President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with his Belarus counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in Istanbul on the sidelines of the summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
    Kazakhstan invited Belarus to actively use its transport infrastructure to trade with China, BelTA reports.
    Lukashenko said the two sides have agreed on mutual visits on part of the presidents to their countries.
    Lukashenko also congratulated Nazarbayev on his outstanding speech during the summit and mentioned strong interest in the opinion of post-Soviet Muslim republics.
    In turn, Nazarbayev said he was pleased to have the opportunity to hold the meeting. He noted Belarus-Kazakhstan economic relations were developing at a strong pace.
    Belarus and Kazakhstan are both members of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Kazinform reports.
