Main part of CSTO military drill starts in Tajikistan

The main stage of the CSTO member states joint military exercises – Search 2016 started on April 21, 30 km from Dushanbe, RIA Novosti reports, citing Spokesman for the Russian Central Military District, Nikolai Berkalov.
The drills will bring together more than 600 military officers from the 201
st military base of Russia in Tajikistan and the Central Military District, 4 helicopters and reconnaissance aircraft.
The joint special drill — Search 2016 started last Monday at Magobi landfill in Tajikistan, 50 km from Dushanbe, and will continue on Thursday at the Lyar training complex of the 201
st military base. The final stage of the exercises will end on Friday in Magobi.
The event has brought together military officers from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. About 1.5 thousand soldiers, military units, operational-tactical and military transport aircraft are involved in the exercises, Akipress reports.
