Kazakh scientist to receive 2 mn dollars for the study of gravitational waves

    LIGO Scientific Collaboration (LSC), which detected gravity waves, was awarded Special Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics in the amount of three mn dollars. The scientists who have made a contribution to the study of gravitational waves, including Kazakhstani - Darkhan Tuenbayev will be awarded.
    It is stated by Award Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics website.
    The founders of LIGO Scientific Collaboration (LSC Ronald Drever, Kip Thorne and Rainer Weiss will get one mn dollars. Two mn dollars will be divided between 1012 scientists who contributed to the detection of gravitational waves and one of them is the citizens of Kazakhstan Darkhan Tuenbayev.
