Heads of CIS states agreed to boost 'commonwealth efficiency'

The heads of the CIS participant states says they intend to sign an action program to increase the efficiency of the Commonwealth of Independent States during the summit for the organizaiton on September 16. Chairman of of the Executive committee - Executive Secretary of the CIS Sergey Lebedev during the ceremonial opening of the plenary session of the 11th Belarusian International Media Forum called: "Partnership for the Sake of the Future," BeLTA reports.
"Now there is an active discussion ongoing forsuggestions to improve the commonwealth. This issue is set to be considered as well during a meeting of the council of the heads of states on September 16 in Bishkek. The specific action program to boost the efficiency of the CIS and its role in the further strengthening of cooperation will be the main result of the anniversary summit, its expected," Lebedev noted.
He said that all the commonwealth states support the preservation and further development of the integration association.
"But at the same time, they stresse the relevance of an adaptation to modern realities, the need for updating and an aspiration to increase the productivity of our efforts," he said, according to Bnews.kz.
