Six of the presidents of CIS countries will take part in the CIS Summit in Bishkek on September 16, Sapar Isakov, chief of the Foreign Policy Division of the President's Office told reporters yesterday.
“The organization will celebrate 25 years. It has achieved big results for these years. A substantial regulatory framework has been adopted, which is widely used in our countries. Such agreements ease movement of citizens, trade, standardization and other issues in the former Soviet Union countries. Relevant issues are discussed by the heads of state at CIS Summits that accumulate for a year. The CIS forum is very relevant for Kyrgyzstan,” Sapar Isakov stated.
The following officials will attend the CIS Summit: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Prime Minister of Moldova Pavel Filip, Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulaziz Kamilov, Vice Prime Minister of Turkmenistan; Ambassador of Ukraine; CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev.
“Most heads of state will come, this is a rather impressive list of participants,” Isakov stressed, according to Kazinform.
