Putin may visit Expo-2017

    Russian President Vladimir Putin might visit Expo-2017, the Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov told Izvestiya.
    Kazakhstan has sent an invitation to 139 countries, and 106 have already confirmed their participation at various levels. According to Peskov, it is possible Vladimir Putin will visit Expo-2017 in Astana.
    As Director of the Public Relations Department at NC Expo-2017 JSC, Sergey Kuyanov says, the Expo program also foresees "national days" of the participating countries as being part of the event.
    "The format of the events envisages the participation of the heads of states and governments and other top officials. 73 countries have already appointed their national days. A SCO summit will also take place on June 9-10", Kuyanov said.
    Expo-2017 is a major national project for Kazakhstan. It is expected to bring about 5 million visitors, according to Kazinform.
