Nazarbayev points to promising areas for Kazakhstan-Israel cooperation

    During extended format negotiations with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev named agriculture, innovation and advanced technology, and health as the most promising areas for bilateral cooperation, a press statement from the Kazakh president reported.
    Netanyahu is on an official visit to Astana.
    “We have unique conditions for engaging in agricultural business, and Israel has advanced technology. The processing of agricultural products, economical irrigation systems – this is what we want to learn from you,” Nazarbayev said.
    He added that Israel is a world leader in innovations and advanced technology, while Kazakhstan is rich in natural resources.
    “We will send a special team of experts to prepare agreements on the exchange of primary goods for advanced technology,” the president said.
    In the healthcare sector, Nazarbayev proposed bringing Israeli organizations to manage certain Kazakh medical clinics.
    Nazarbayev and Netanyahu also discussed key bilateral cooperation issues related to trade and investment, as well as in innovative technology. The two parties also exchanged viewpointss on pressing international matters.
    “The big Jewish diaspora in Kazakhstan and the Kazakh community in Israel are a bridge for constructive ties between our nations,” the Kazakh president said.
    Nazarbayev also underlined Kazakhstan’s interest in the further development of business relations with Israel, and expressed hope Netanyahu’s visit would give new momentum to bilateral relations.
    In turn, Netanyahu said Israel had succeeded in the areas of 1security and new technology and proposed using this experience for the benefit of the two nations, Trend reports.
