10.01.2017
Social network users in Kazakhstan are sharing their images showing huge lines in the citizen service centers in Almaty after the introduction of mandatory temporary registration of Kazakh nationals, which became highly debated number one topic in Kazakhstan these days, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports.
According to the new rule that entered into force in Kazakhstan starting from 1 January 2017, owners of apartments and tenants must pass registration or otherwise face fines.
"Almaty service center right now. Came here not for registration," wrote Facebook user Timur Kasymzhanov.
In order for one to register, the apartment owner must be present, both must have IDs, and other documents with them. The new rule aims at protection of citizens from terrorism and extremism.
"Readiness of service centers to serve citizens. Tyurksib district. Feel kind of sorry for the center workers as they are the ones to get all the anger and outrage addressed to so-called lawmakers", wrote Irena Poplawska.
