The Kazakh President's grandson Aisultan Nazarbayev in one of his Facebook posts shared his opinion on latest government reshuffle and corruption in the country.
Aisultan in his post critical of some officials in President's Administration said: “Unfortunately, some people can't overcome the star fever symptoms … These people, to my biggest disappointment, are not interested in their county, nation, they are selfish and money-focused. These sick people are not able to deal with sophisticated government issues anymore. How can they help my grandfather in a time that requires hard work? ” the post read.
He also mentioned former Prime Minister and current head of KNB (National Security Committee) Karim Massimov's "getting rid of corrupt and clingy persons in President's Administration."
“Nobody uses the word “public enemy” today, but I consider it appropriate in naming those corrupt top government officials, as they harm not each other but the nation. Knowing my grandfather, I can firmly say that Massimov will do his best to clean the President's surrounding,” Aisultan wrote.
Aisultan Nazarbayev further provided concrete names. “It's very interesting for me personally whether Chairman of National Bank Akishev and head of President's Administration Jaksybekov will be able to retain their seats, as their direct subordinates are suspected of committing state crimes. I know very well the mentioned officials and I am certain that no one can commit crimes behind their backs...” said Aisultan Nazarbayev.
“Investigation will show if Utemuratov and Tasmagambetov had roles in these dirty deeds. But if you ask a random question [in Kazakhstan about those people], they will answer that these people robbed the nation. Thanks God, we have few of them," he said. "But I guess the era of agashki [big brothers in Kazakh] is coming to the end – Kazakhstan is changing. I am sure that new KNB chief is powerful enough to deal with these issues. Right now, he's role in the country is huge as never,” the post reads.
Aisultan Nazarbayev in conclusion called on the youth to support the strategic course of Kazakhstan aimed at strengthening the stability and independence of the country. “ After all, we will be also in charge of Kazakhstan's future in front of our children one day," he concluded.
Earlier, Former Deputy Head of Kazakh President's Administration Baglan Mailybayev was arrested for two months on suspicion of divulging state secrets, the National Security Committee (KNB) of Kazakhstan said. Mailybayev was sacked as Deputy Head of Kazakh President's Administration on January 12, AKIpress reported.
