92 agreements worth $840 mln signed during Mirziyoyev's trip to Kazakhstan

Some 92 agreements worth more than $840 million have been signed as part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to Astana, reports Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaihov at the Kazakh-Uzbek business forum in the capital city of Kazakhstan.
Shaihov said that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are in the center of the Great Silk Road, therefore, they have all logistics opportunities to enter the third countries, as well as the development of trade between each other.
"The Uzbek-Kazakh relations are not warming, but getting hot, because this is a transition to a new level of development — the integrative cooperation level...Now we are discussing a joint entrance to Chinese, European, American and African markets, as we will create a joint production, use the logistics centers that are developing in our countries," he noted.
According to Shaihov, Uzbekistan plans to increase its trade with Kazakhstan from $2 billion to $5 billion.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is on a state visit in Kazakhstan since March 22.
Uzbekistan plans to create a special trade zone near the Kazakh borders, according to the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Alisher Shaihov during the Kazakh-Uzbek business forum in Astana.
Shaihov speaking at the event noted that involvement of the Uzbek business will make both countries competitive on the global market, reports inform.kz.
According to him, cooperation between the two countries should be built on the basis of the complementarity principle to prevent the competition.
The business forum was attended by President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who is on state visit in Astana currently.
The Uzbek-American joint venture GM Uzbekistan in cooperation with AllurGroup automobile manufacturer of Kazakhstan agreed on joint production of the car Ravon Nexia R3 in the city of Kostanay, Kazakhstan, reports the press service of the AllurGroup company.
As part of the project, GM Uzbekistan and Sary-Arka Avtoprom LLP signed the agreement on cooperation.
The assembled cars will be sold by the dealer networks of AllurAuto company and Uzauto Asia LLP, noted the statement.
The cooperation agreements have been signed in the framework of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's state visit to Kazakhstan.
The new leadership of Uzbekistan has fully opened up new opportunities for trade and removed barriers. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev stated following the results of negotiations with his counterpart in Akorda, Kazinform reported.
"Astana and Tashkent take leading positions in bilateral economic and trade partnership in the entire Central Asia region. The sales between our countries in the last year alone amounted to USD2bln, and the growth of trade in physical items was equal to 16 percent", Nazarbayev said.
The Head of the State stressed that recently the relations between two countries started to develop in a completely different way.
"Only for the last five months (...) the goods turnover between our countries on both sides has increased by 30 percent including new goods. Four trade centers have been established. Sales of grains (export) have increased by 30 percent and Uzbek fruits and vegetables (import) by 25 percent compared to the previous time. This is because the new leadership team of Uzbekistan has fully opened up new opportunities for trade and removed barriers", Nursultan Nazarbayev underlined.
The President added that inter-economic relations have been actively developing and over 800 enterprises involving Uzbek capital investments are operating in various areas of Kazakh economy.
"As a part of the negotiations our Governments have started a detailed practical work over the agreements reached", Nazarbayev summarised.
President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated his readiness to further deepening of comprehensive cooperation with Kazakhstan, Kazinform reported.
"In September last year while visiting Samarkand you, Nursultan Abishevich, said that Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan will always be together. On good days we will feel happy for each other, and in hard moments we will worry about each other. These words have brought us closer and your words have become the ground for the whole Uzbek people to feel support by a true friend and brother. On the day of [Kurban] Ait you intentionally came to pay tribute to the First President of Uzbekistan, your friend Islam Abduganiyevich Karimov", Shavkat Mirziyoyev said during a bilateral meeting between the Presidents in Akorda.
The Uzbek President noted that for the last five months development of relations between the two countries has gained a new turn.
"About the forum you said that it is the first time in history between our countries. Trade and economic relations reached a much higher level, i.e. 250 entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan will today participate in business forum, and billion-dollar contracts are signed", Mirziyoyev added.
According to him, over a short period of time a great attention has been paid to regional cooperation. Heads of three regions of Kazakhstan have visited Uzbekistan, and many heads of Uzbek regions have visited Kazakhstan.
"You and the First President Islam Abduganiyevich have created that bridge, and that bridge will strengthen. We always treat Kazakhstan as the closest and the most reliable neighbor" Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlined.
According to the Head of Uzbekistan, the fact that one of his first visits has been paid to Kazakhstan speaks volumes.
