Samruk-Kazyna changes schedules of assets privatisation

    Minister of National Economy Timur Suleimenov announced the re-confirmed schedules of the integrated privatisation plan, Kazinform reports.
    According to Mr. Suleimenov, this year Samruk Kazyna will put 325 organisations up for sale and 61 in 2018. Minister also noted that 8 largest companies of Kazakhstan, such as Air Astana, Kazatomprom, Kazakhtelecom and others will announce IPOs or SPO’s in 2019-2020.
    The Minister said that 137 assets were added into the integrated privatisation plan, while 41 social objects were excluded. As a result, the number of privatised objects is 879.
    “Of them, 68 are large, that means that now the top 64 is being transformed into top 68 (…) In addition, the State Commission for Economic Modernisation adopted decisions on the way to sell 22 assets from the top 64, including 8 state companies and 14 companies of JSC NWF Samruk-Kazyna, as well as 157 portfolio companies of the Fund,” he added.
    Within the framework of the complex privatisation plan, 280 organisations will be put up for sale this year, Kazpravda.kz quotes the National Economy Minister, Timur Suleimenov as saying at the government meeting.
    The minister said that in 2019-2020, 8 largest assets of the country (of which 14 are top-end facilities) will be put up for IPO / SPO. Among them are: Air Astana JSC, Kazatomprom NAC JSC, Kazakhtelecom JSC, KazMunaiGaz NC JSC, Kazpost JSC, Samruk-Energo JSC, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy NC JSC, TauKen Samruk NC.
    The process of privatization in 2016-2020 can be tracked on a special website, Kazpravda.kz quotes the National Economy Minister Timur Suleimenov as telling the meeting in Government.
    "For transparency and effectiveness of privatization, attracting potential investors, Kaznex Invest has created an additional Internet resource - www.privatization.gov.kz, which provides updates on privatization of objects and on the implementation of the integrated privatization plan," - the Minister said.
    According to him, a marketing plan for promoting the privatisation programme was developed, in particular, world business centers for the road show were determined - Moscow, London, New York, Tokyo, Singapore (estimated dates - May-June 2017), as well as partnership with international business TV channels and business publications (approximate dates - April-July 2017) on promo materials and PR-support.
    Kazakh Invest and the Ministry of Investment and Development are requested to ensure updates in three languages (Kazakh, Russian, English) on privatized objects on a weekly basis, Timur Suleimenov added.
