Sagintayev named Gov’t work directions till 2021

    During the tenth Astana Economic Forum, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev named the five main directions of the Government's work until 2021, Kazpravda.kz correspondent reports.
    The head of the Cabinet made a speech during the session of the World Bank "Kazakhstan. System diagnostics of the country."
    According to him, the executive power is working within the framework of the Third Modernization program announced by the President.
    "Now the Government is actively working in five directions: accelerated technological modernization of the economy, coordinated improvement of the business environment, provision of productive employment, macroeconomic stability and improvement of the quality of human capital." These are no easy tasks, and step-by-step by the year 2021, economic growth rate should be 5,5 percent ", - Sagintayev informed. In the five months Kazakhstan economy has grown by 0.4%.
    "We are working on the preparation of the country's development plan until 2025, the export and investment strategy. 8 main development directions have been defined: fuel and energy complex, agribusiness, transport and logistics, tourism, trade, education and healthcare," he added.
    In each direction, the PM went on to say, the target indicators have already been determined. The Government has also identified 4 cross-branches linking all the others - financial stability, human capital, entrepreneurship and education.
    "We are grateful to the World Bank for the timely diagnostics, it should help the government get an objective look, identify opportunities and risks. It is the main goal of our meeting today," Bakytzhan Sagintayev concluded.
    The capital of Kazakhstan is hosting the Astana Economic Forum on June 15-16, which will address the most pressing economic and social issues. Each year, the AEF gathers more than 5,000 delegates from 80 countries around the world.
