At a press conference in Akorda, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev denied rumours about a sharp weakening of the tenge in October-November this year, Kazpravda.kz reports.
In addition, the Head of State assured that in the near future no sharp changes in oil price are expected.
In addition, Nursultan Nazarbayev spoke about measures to improve the banking sector.
Speaking about the process of improving the situation with Kazkommertsbank, Nazarbayev noted that the bank's management asked the state to allocate 400 billion tenge, in fact, it actually needed 600 billion tenge. It was decided to attract a stronger investor and capitalize the bank.
"Halyk Bank" was the stronger investor, which capitalized this bank by 185 billion tenge from its own money; no bank can afford this. It is the entire capitalization of the largest banks," concluded the President, adding that in this way the financial market was stabilized, and now banks should lend to Kazakhstan economy.
