A large package of documents was signed between Kazakhstan and the United States within Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to Washington. Among them are 3 intergovernmental and more than 20 commercial agreements worth $7bn, Kazpravda reports.
The intergovernmental agreements were concluded on non-payment for air navigation services of state aircraft and on improving international tax discipline (on the exchange of tax information), as well as the protocol to the agreement on provision of commercial rail transit via Kazakhstan territory.
The package of commercial documents on investment and trade and economic cooperation concluded within the visit is worth about $7 billion.
Among them are agreements on the purchase of equipment and services in the field of aviation and space research for about $1.5 billion.
With the largest financial institutions of the USA, such as the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), Oppenheimer and Goldman Sachs, documents were signed on the financing of joint investment projects and trade operations in the amount of $3 billion.
With the General Electric Corporation contracts on railway transport projects worth more than $1 billion were signed, with Chevron- agreement to invest $251 million in priority projects in the oil and gas chemical industry.
With W.R. Grace & Co. an agreement was signed on the construction in Atyrau of a plant for the production of catalytic cracking catalysts for domestic and foreign refineries in the amount of $200 million, with IBM – on creation of an incubator for financial technology, with the Global Venture Alliance - on creation of a fund for the digital industry, with General Electric Digital, agreements were signed on digitalization in railway transport, energy, oil refining and other sectors of the economy.
Documents were also signed in the field of agriculture, development of logistics infrastructure, pharmacy and others.
