The Heads of Central Asian countries are holding a working meeting in Astana. Presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev of Kazakhstan, Sooronbai Jeenbekov of Kyrgyzstan, Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan are taking part in it. In view of the high-level events scheduled earlier, Turkmenistan is represented by Akja Nurberdiyeva, the Chairwoman of the Mejlis, according to Kazinform.
"The initiative to hold regular working consultations for resolving our internal issues belongs to the President of Uzbekistan. Owing to his suggestion, we can solve the arising problems together. It is symbolic that our meeting is being held in the run-up to Nauryz Holiday. The previous meeting took place 9 years ago. Since then, we have not met. Of course, we maintained contacts but there has been no joint meeting," Nursultan Nazarbayev said opening the meeting.
Earlier during a bilateral meeting with the President of Kyrgyzstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev emphasized that the working meeting of the Central Asian presidents is organized to discuss and find solution to the intraregional issues regarding trade and economic relations, logistics, infrastructure and so on.
"We should tackle all the issues on our own and ensure the prosperity of the peoples. We are meeting for that purpose," the Head of State said.
We, the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the Republic of Uzbekistan, extend heartfelt congratulations to the peoples of Central Asia on Nauryz, the common holiday for our entire region.
We highlight that on 23rd February 2010 this holiday was recognized by the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day of Nauryz and was included in UNESCO's List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
Over its millennia-old history, Nauryz Holiday has become a symbol of the revival and renewal of nature and society, and human's spiritual cleansing and self-perfection. This blessed holiday epitomizes well-being, unity, brotherhood, and mutual support, all those timeless cultural and historical values that unite our nations. It is a great heritage gained from our common ancestors. We should cherish and develop it.
Nauryz celebrations have always been accompanied by the strengthening of human and family relations, friendship and good neighborliness ties, a special hospitality between neighbors. Nowadays, it is also crucial for our countries united by the common history, culture, way of life, and traditions.
It is quite symbolic that in the run-up to this common holiday we express our willingness for regional cooperation, mutual support, joint settlement of topical issues to ensure the security, stability, and sustainable development of our entire region.
The mutually beneficial trade, economic, and investment cooperation, the expansion of the regional transit and transport infrastructure, the rational utilization of the water, energy and food potential, the development of industry and processing manufacturing, the use of advanced technologies and innovations, the advancement towards digital economy will contribute to the sustainable growth of the prosperity of the peoples of Central Asia.
Realizing our historical responsibility for preserving and strengthening the relations of mutual respect, friendship, and brotherhood between our peoples, we call for the intensification of cooperation in culture and art, education and science, tourism and sports.
As we approach the spring equinox, the holiday of renewal and spiritual cleansing, we wish peace and well-being, wealth and joy, progress and prosperity to the peoples of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, and to all the peoples of our planet.
