Nursultan Nazarbayev and Xi Jinping signed Joint statement of RK and PRC

As a result of top-level talks held within the framework of the state visit of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to China, a package of documents aimed at development of Kazakh-Chinese cooperation was signed, Kazpravda.kz reports

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping signed a joint statement of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China.

An agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China on

cooperation in preventing the illegal movement of nuclear materials, radioactive materials, radioactive wastes and radiation-hazardous items and a framework agreement on giving a soft loan by the PRC were signed. 

A memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was concluded between the Ministries of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the People's Republic of China. 

Two memoranda of understanding were signed between the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Committee for Development and Reforms of the PRC. 

A memorandum on cooperation in the field of electronic commerce was concluded between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC. 

Also, two protocols were signed between the Agriculture Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Main Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China. 

In his welcoming speech, the Head of State expressed gratitude for the invitation to make a state visit and noted the traditionally warm reception provided by the Chinese side. 

The head of state drew attention to the high dynamics of the Kazakh-Chinese relations, pointing out that since 2012, 188 meetings at the highest level took place. 

"During this time, we signed 127 bilateral documents worth a total of about $ 67 billion. We need to continue this cooperation. The volume of mutual trade over the past year has reached almost 11 billion dollars, with growth of more than 30 percent. We have a great potential for advancement of bilateral relations," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

The President of Kazakhstan highly appreciated the personal contribution of the PRC Chairman to the progressive development of good-neighborly relations in the spirit of friendship, equality, mutual cooperation and respect for state sovereignty. 

The PRC Chairman, in turn, noted the high level of development of bilateral cooperation, which became an example of good-neighborliness, and pointed to the strengthening of mutual trust and cooperation in implementing joint infrastructure initiatives, including the “One belt, one way” program. 

During the talks, the Chinese side expressed interest in supplying environmentally friendly Kazakh agricultural products to its market, as well as deepening bilateral cooperation in energy, oil and gas, cultural and humanitarian areas, new technologies and digitalization. 

At the end of the meeting, the Head of State invited the PRC Chairman to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan. 

As a result of the visit, the following documents were signed: 

1. Joint statement of the RK and PRC. 

2. Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on cooperation in preventing the illegal movement of nuclear materials, radioactive materials, radioactive waste and radiation-hazardous items. 

3. Framework Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Government of the People's Republic of China on granting a soft loan by the PRC.

4. Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Finance of China. 

5. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Committee for Development and Reform of China on joint development of the Chinese-Kazakh cooperation plan in production capacities and investments areas. 

6. Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the State Committee for Development and Reforms of the People's Republic of China on approval of the list of joint projects in industrialization and investment area and mechanisms for its formation. 

7. Memorandum on cooperation in the field of electronic commerce between the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Commerce of China.

8. Protocol between the Agriculture Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Main Customs Administration of China on inspection, quarantine and veterinary-sanitary requirements for beef exported from Kazakhstan to China.

9. Protocol of sanitary and phytosanitary requirements for exports of alfalfa hay from Kazakhstan to China between the Agriculture Ministry of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Main Customs Administration of the People's Republic of China.
