20.8 billion US dollars were invested into the economy of Kazakhstan in 2017, said Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev at the opening of the second forum Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable 2018.
"The gross inflow of foreign investments into Kazakhstan's economy for 2017 amounted to almost 21 billion US dollars, a quarter of this amount is directed to the processing industry - 5.2 billion US dollars, which is 27% higher than in 2016," Bakytzhan Sagintayev said.
According to the PM, about 50% of all foreign investments were directed to non-oil and gas sectors.
"During the first 5 months of 2018, agreements were reached to organize 69 new projects with major investors, including 10 trans-national companies from China, Turkey, the United States, the UAE, the United Kingdom and the EEU countries," he said.
According to the speaker, to date, the Kazakhstan-China programme of industrial-innovative cooperation is successfully implemented, which includes 21 projects for a total of $27.7 billion.
"In total this year 54 projects worth $3.9 billion will be completed, and construction of 63 projects will be started for a total of 6.8 billion tenge", Bakytzhan Sagintayev summed up.
