256 billion tenge invested in Mangistau in half a year

The head of the southwestern Kazakh Mangistau region Eraly Tugzhanov announced the results of social and economic development for January-June 2018.

Eraly Tugzhanov noted that the work in the region was done in accordance with the instructions of the President, announced in the New Opportunities for Development in the Conditions of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Message, and the instructions of the President and the Government on the Five Social Initiatives.

According to the head, the region's industrial enterprises produced products in current prices for 1.4 trillion tenge for the first half of this year. The share of the manufacturing sector reached 9%.

Investments in fixed assets for the first half of 2018 amounted to 256 billion tenge.

"The Mangistau region carries out export-import operations with 37 countries. Since the beginning of the year, negotiations with potential investors have been conducted and 6 memorandums have been signed. Within the framework of Nursultan Nazarbayev's visit to the UAE, a framework agreement was signed with DP World on the acquisition of a 49% stake in FEZ Marine Aktau. This agreement will allow to integrate the Mangistau region into the international logistics chain, as well as apply the experience and advanced technologies of DP World in the field of transport logistics," Yeraly Tugzhanov said.

In addition, another 6 projects for the amount of 1.4 trillion tenge are included in the investment portfolio of the region.

According to the Nur Capital regional program, 110 projects worth KZT 2 bn., which are under consideration in second-tier banks, were considered and selected.
