The Parliament started the work of the fourth session of the sixth convocation after President Nursultan Nazarbayev opened the session on September 1 and gave a number of instructions.
The speaker of the Parliament, Nurlan Nigmatulin, said that the Parliament’s work will be aimed at strengthening social security and economic development.
"Now there are more than 50 bills in the parliament's consideration, therefore, starting from today, we will start our legislative activity," Nigmatulin said.
He added that during the new session, the deputies will have to consider such important bills as public procurement issues and procurement issues of the quasi-public sector, which is aimed at simplifying these processes and increasing their effectiveness.
"The adoption of the bill will reduce corruption risks, free up funds for implementing priority tasks and improve the business climate. We also need to consider drafts of such important laws as natural monopolies, on the regulation of the agro-industrial complex, the adoption of which will contribute to further progressive socio-economic development. And this, dear colleagues, is only a few of the most important draft laws," Nigmatulin said.
The speaker also promised that the Parliament will continue to work on improving the quality of law-making in an open and constructive dialogue, both with representatives of civil society and with the media.
