In Akorda, Nursultan Nazarbayev accepted credentials of new ambassadors to Kazakhstan. These are Ambassadors of: Slovakia Milan Kollár, of Spain David Arturo Carriedo, China- Zhang Xiao, Head of the EU Delegation in Kazakhstan Sven-Olov Carlsson and Israeli Ambassador Liat Wexelman.
"I congratulate you on the official start of the diplomatic mission in Kazakhstan. It coincides with an important period in the development of our country. Our strategic direction is to be among the top 30 world advanced nations, for which we adopt relevant programs and carry out reforms," the President said, referring to the Astana International Financial Center opened this year, Digital Kazakhstan and other programmes, as well as to the recent state-of-the-nation address.
He expressed Kazakhstan’s concern about the changes taking place in the system of international relations and the observed turbulence. "We are pursuing a multi-vector balanced foreign policy. In order to resolve international conflicts and strengthen trust between nations, we, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, are making a contribution. In this year we host two major events in our capital within the UN: a session of the convention on the protection and use of transboundary watercourses and international lakes, and the global conference on primary healthcare between WHO and UNICEF. And a few days later the sixth congress of world and traditional religions’ leaders will be held, and your delegations will take part in it," Nursultan Nazarbayev said.
He expressed confidence that the ceremony of presenting credentials will further develop mutual cooperation.
