The short-term economic indicator for Kazakhstan’s overall economic growth in January-September 2018 compared with January-September 2017 was 104.8%. Calculation of the short-term economic indicator is implemented to ensure efficiency and is based on the change in output indexes for basic sectors: agriculture, industry, construction, trade, transport and communications, constituting over 60% of GDP.
The volume of investment in fixed assets in January-September 2018 was 7517.1 billion tenge, which is 21.6% higher than in January-September 2017.
Industrial output in January-September 2018 was 20239.8 billion tenge in current prices, which is 4.8% more than in January-September 2017. In mining and quarrying production has increased by 4.9%, in manufacturing production - by 5.1%, in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning - by 3.5%. In water supply, sewerage system, control over the collection and distribution has decreased by 1.5%.
The volume of gross output (services) of agricultural, foresty and fisheries in January-September 2018 was 3188 billion tenge, which is 2% more than in January-September 2017.
In «Transport» sector the volume index in January-September 2018 was 104.6%.
The volume of freight turnover in January-September 2018 amounted to 438.1 billion ton-kilometers (given the estimation of the volume of turnover of individual entrepreneurs involved in commercial transportation), which is 8.9% more than January-September 2017. The volume of passenger turnover was 209 billion passenger-kilometers and increased by 4.2%.
In the communications sector the volume index in January-September 2018 was 103.9%.
In the trade sector the volume index in January-September 2018 was 106.7%.
The volume of retail trade in January-September 2018 was 7164.2 billion tenge or 107% as compared to January- September 2017 (in the comparable prices).
The volume of wholesale trade in January-September 2018 was 15339.1 billion tenge or 106.4% as compared to January-September 2017 (in the comparable prices).
The foreign trade turnover of Kazakhstan in January-August 2018 was 59848.4 million US dollars and compared to January-August 2017 it increased by 21.6%, including export worth 39081.1 million US dollars (28.2% more), and imports at 20767.3 million US dollars (10.8% more).
The number of registered legal entities as of October 1, 2018 was 433967 units and compared with the corresponding period of the previous year increased by 7.1%, including 424975 units with less than 100 employees. The number of operating entities was 274813 including 266299 small businesses (less than 100 employees).
The consumer price index in September 2018 compared to December 2017 was 103.3%. The food prices have increased by 2.3%, non-food by 4.3%, and paid services by 3.4%. Prices of industrial products in September 2018 compared to December 2017 has increased by 14.4%.
Per capita nominal income of the population estimated in August 2018 was 89338 tenge which is 8.1% higher compared to August 2017, the real monetary income in August 2018 decreased by 2%.
Average monthly nominal wages accrued to employees (estimated) in September 2018 was 160555 tenge.
The number of unemployed people estimated in September 2018 was 441.9 thousand people. The unemployment rate was 4.9% of the labor force. Number of persons registered with employment offices as unemployed at the end of September 2018 was 146.8 thousand people or 1.6% of the labour force.
